Hot stuff a hit at the Royal Sydney Easter Show

I've said it before, and I'll say it again - man, I love my job.
At the risk of sounding repetitious - photojournalism rocks.
What's brought this effusive shower of warm hugs and happiness?  Simple - a free pass to the Sydney Royal Easter Show.

OK - so it was actually a media pass, with the accreditation organised by my boss, and truth be told, at one stage I was overly excited by the idea, but after getting home last night after a day at the show, I decided it was worth it.

Here's why:
Lunch was provided.  I have never met a photographer who will turn down a free lunch.
I got to work with a personality-compatible journalist.  Sometimes - and only sometimes - we (photogs) get partnered with journos who you just don't 'gel' with.  Conversation is a non-starter.  Awkward silences abound - especially when you're sitting in a car together for hours.  So it's (always) good to work with someone you can yarn with. (Plus - he writes this blog about street art.  Cool.)
The Easter Show is colourful.  Like more colourful than a rainbow flag on Mardi Gras.  So it's an easy place to find people, and places, to photograph and talk to.
We found a guy that was willing to guinea pig his gastro-intestinal system and try a dollop of The World's Hottest Chilli Sauce.  Even his remarkable attempts at controlling his facial expression couldn't hide the fact that the Guinness World Record certificate hanging behind him was in fact well deserved, and his poker face needed some work.

For the techies reading this - it was shot on a Nikon D3S, with a 24-70 f2.8, and then quickly (because that's how PJs roll) turned out with iMovie.
