When Life Goes Downhill...

Not necessarily a bad thing, sometimes.
Especially when:
a. it's a stunning day, in what was supposed to be autumn;
b. you get to go out and check out a newly discovered downhill system; and
c. while you might not be riding, you're in the presence of those that can. And if they can't, most times they'll give it a nudge.

As Spleen used to say, Sunday's can be fun days, and this recent Sunday was no exception.

A few hours with Dr Mike and Jimbo was spoilt only by one of the pair being smashed by the FAIL stick - in that he failed to hit the correct line, failed to ride the berm, failed to recover from it, and failed to unclip from his pedal successfully in time . To give you a hint - there are quite a few photos of Dr Mike through the day. Even though to his credit he had a loose and wobbly tomato coloured toe after he attempted to punt some furniture into touch during an early morning relief run. And as Jimbo may (or may not) testify, there are some advantages to having a doctor on site - even if he constantly refuses to bring his x-ray lupes out riding with him.

The lighting conditions were reasonably challenging - either in bush-covered shade, or in stippled mixed lighting conditions (check out the series on the berm - and no, it's not the berm that bit Jimbo).

So cheers to Karenn (not a typo), Jaan, Mark and Josh. And of course Dr Mike for the lift and directions. Music on the track is courtesy of Budspells - 'Forgotten Souls' - love your work lads. And we're hoping and praying for Jimbo's speedy recovery and return to riding.
